11-18 July 2011. The town of Pemba hosts the Tambo International Art Camp, a seven days summer camp at close contact with the multicultural art scene and traditions of Pemba.
Local as well as international artists will organize dance, theatre, music, design workshops and debates. There are also visits to local art communities such as the Mapiko dancers, Makonde art and the Arab influenced Tufo and Damba singing.
This camp was organized for the first time in 1995 to promote Mozambican art and to improve the local conditions for creativity.
